Diana Ross Sings Songs From The Wiz
rdfs:comment
Diana Ross Sings Songs From The Wiz was a soundtrack recorded to promote the 1978 movie The Wiz. As the name states, it stars Diana Ross (who played Dorothy Gale in the movie) performing 12 of the movie's songs by herself. It also contains a tune found only in the stage version of The Wiz, and two heard in neither production. Due to the Wiz movie flopping at the box office, Motown indefinitely put off plans to release this record. One week before the NBC premiere of The Wiz Live!, they finally made it available to download.
