The Mizuumi Clan (湖氏族, Mizuumi shizoku) is an old clan hailing from Kirigakure, in the Land of Water. The Mizuumi clan is often called the "Storm Clan" or "The Clan of Storms in the Hidden Mist". Members of the clan are often noted for their cool demeanor and calm personalities. Nearly every member of the clan possesses Water-nature chakra, although many have developed Wind and Lightning. The clan is famous for being a possessor of the distinct kekkei genkai: Storm Release. The founding member of the clan, Saburo, was known to possess the abilities of Ice Release. However, the strain of Ice Release is considered "dead" within the clan - as none have shown Ice Release capability for generations. There has been much speculation that the Mizuumi clan has splintered from the Yuki Clan and the family of the Fifth Mizukage. However, the Mizuumi clan insists that this is untrue and that the families are all unrelated.
