Clone commando Clone Commando
rdfs:comment
A Clone Commando is an elite clone that has been trained to excel in all forms of combat and covert operations. Parts of his body including his helmet or armour can be used to customize Clone Troopers in Star Wars: Battlefront Elite Squadron. This Clone is also available in mod maps. When Order 66 was issued by Chancellor Palpatine near the conclusion of the Clone Wars, the Jedi Order became targeted for extermination while Palpatine brought a swift end to the Old Republic by declaring himself emperor of the first Galactic Empire. The remaining Republic commandos were rechristened as Imperial commandos and incorporated into a special forces unit attached to the 501st Legion, under the command of the Sith Lord Darth Vader. A clone commando, also known as a Republic commando and later an Imperial commando, was an elite soldier of the Grand Army of the Republic and later the Stormtrooper Corps. Often working in groups of four, The Commandos partook in any dangerous combat missions and often went to enemy-occupied worlds for recon missions. Unlike most other clones, commandos had more free will and, because of this, were able to complete missions without permission or morale interfering. Clone commandos worked in squads, which consisted of of four clones who were trained in specific tasks. Clone Commandos, better known as Republic Commandos, were clone troopers with advanced training, far more than those of the famous ARC troopers, except for the fact that they were designed to completely follow orders. The remaining Republic commandos were rechristened as Imperial commandos and incorporated into a special forces unit attached to the 501st Legion, under the command of the Sith Lord Darth Vader. However, a minority of commandos refused to comply with Order 66, either out of sympathy for the Jedi or due to other personal reasons. For instance, Ion Team did not carry out the command to kill their Jedi officers, believing it to be an invalid order, and instead opted to ensure the survival of General Roan Shryne. Other commandos fled to Mandalore, choosing to go into hiding rather than serve as the enforcers of the Emperor's New Order. Clone Commandos, better known as Republic Commandos, were clone troopers with advanced training, far more than those of the famous ARC troopers, except for the fact that they were designed to completely follow orders. Each commando trained with his squadmates for his entire training period and they often grew very close to each other. Commando squads made from Commandos who had lost teammates often had trouble getting along due to feelings for their dead commrades. Commandos wore Katarn armor, originally grey-colored, but many commandos, such as the commandos of Delta Squad chose to modify their color scheme. They were usually armed with DC-17ms which were interchangable to fit each commando's preffered role, for example the sniper attatchment and the demolitions attatchment. Clone commandos were created with more capabilty of free thinking than the average clone troopers.
