The Dorvain General Election, 1952 was held on the 27th May 1952 to elect the 39th Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dorvain. Each of the 225 parliamentary constituencies elected one Member of Parliament to Parliament. The election saw the Democrats and Liberals support crumble, whilst the Socialists continued to go from strength to strength. With universal public healthcare becoming commonplace among the postwar world, many progressives in Dorvain felt the country should do the same. The Socialist Party held the bastion for the creation of a National Health Service whilst the Royalists were the only party to outright oppose and endorse the current system; polarizing the election between those two parties. The Democrats and the Liberals meanwhile struggled to make either of their campaigns stand out, with both parties espousing similar principals and trying to avoid the topic, but generally supporting a compromise, with full subsidization for low earners but the system remaining private. Despite support for a National Health Service being strong and growing, the Royalists managed to keep their majority, increasing it. The Socialists meanwhile for the first time in the party's history became the official opposition.
