Buddhism in Africa
rdfs:comment
Of all the continents (except Antarctica), Africa is perhaps the continent with the least amount of Buddhist temples and Buddhists. Much of this can be related to warfare, civil wars, famine and poverty (in some areas), but also due to political situations. Many nations in Africa do not allow for religious missionaries except for pre-approved religions, which are usually Christianity or Islam. It is estimated that about 0.02% of Africans are Buddhist, currently the lowest percentage of all continents.

In spite of this, there has been some increase in interest in Buddhism in recent years on the African continent. There are now several Buddhist temples and meditation centers in central Africa and in South Africa. It is estimated that about 0.02% of Africans are Buddhist, currently the lowest percentage of all continents.
