Toa Metru Vakama later travelled here, attempting to find suitable conditions for the settlement of Ta-Koro. After becoming a Turaga, Vakama journeyed with the Ta-Matoran to his previously surveyed area; managing the construction of the village. Makuta Teridax provoked Mangai to erupt, posing significant threat to the Matoran citizenry. Toa Mata Pohatu and Onua used the respective Kanohi Kakama and Pakari to construct a ravine passageway, channelling it harmlessly. Mangai was effectively destroyed after the Toa Nuva unintentionally awakened the Bohrok, allowing the swarm to ravage the island.
