Principal Peterson
rdfs:comment
Principal Peterson (Dwayne Hill) is Betty's school principal. Tough but fair, he takes his interest in hockey to the point of obsession. His office is decorated with tons of memorabilia and he even has a penalty box in his office where he puts kids who have misbehaved. He also likes to sprinkle his everyday speech with metaphors from hockey and other sports. His voice and style of dress are patterned after veteran Canadian hockey commentator Don Cherry.

Among the staff under him are Mrs. Dourly (Robin Duke), originally a substitute teacher in Betty's art class but in later seasons is Betty's regular teacher, and Coach Sorenson (Neil Crone), the school's slightly misogynistic physical education teacher and local minor hockey coach.
