Silmaris’ exact history is unclear; he simply showed up one day on Outreach looking for work. Attempts to trace his past have yielded very few results; however, it is suspected that he comes from one of the near periphery realms. That he seems to lack a family name makes tracing him even harder. Certainly his education is rough, and his actual military experience seems to be more hands-on then from any formalised training. Regardless, Silmaris was hired by Weiss in 3058 to be a part of the new Blackguards unit. Impressed with his skill as well as his ruthless drive, he was assigned as a lance commander, later promoted to a company commander as the unit grew. He, in turn, demonstrated a great deal of loyalty to his commander, being glad to follow even the most questionable of orders. Following captain Dyron’s defection, he became even closer to Weiss, being one of the few original members of the Blackguards left. While he serves as the commander of Bravo Company, Silmaris also is a member of Weiss’ “inner circle” of most loyal and reliable members, and has been known to act as a bodyguard for the commander.
