Schon lange gibt es kleine Organisationen, die versuchen, Ood Operations zu Fall zu bringen, sie werden aber kaum beachtet und haben eher den Ruf als Radikale und Verrückte. Die Organisation Freunde der Ood versucht seit Jahren zu beweisen, dass die Ood fühlende Wesen sind und die Sklaverei damit mehr als unmoralisch. Die Ood Operations wurde im Jahre 3914 gegründet und blieb 200 Jahre in Familienhand, der letzte Geschäftsführer war Klineman Halpen, der die Firma leitete, bis es im Jahre 4126 zu einem Aufstand der Ood kam. Bereits vor der akuten Kriese berichten Mitarbeiter von einem Rückgang der Verkaufszahlen der Ood, woran dies liegt, bleibt jedoch ungeklärt. Die jahrelange Versklavung der Ood war nur möglich, solange das Ood-Gehirn, das telepathische Zentrum aller Ood, von einem elektrischen Feld eingekreist war. Der Zehnte Doctor und Donna Noble zerstören die elektrischen Begrenzer und die Ood sind frei. Das Ood-Gehirn sendet ein telepathisches Lied an alle Ood im Universum und ruft sie Heim. Dies bedeutet das Ende für Ood Corperations. Da nun klar ist, dass die Ood alles andere als freiwillige Diener sind, wird die Versklavung eingestellt. The company had made the Ood subservient by removing their secondary external brains and by placing a circle of energy pylons around the Ood Hive mind, This acted as a telepathic inhibitor. Halpen's personal Ood, Sigma, had been dosing Halpen with a solution mixed with hair tonic that transformed him into an Ood. The Tenth Doctor and Donna shut down the telepathic inhibitor and restored the Ood's ability to "sing" telepathically again. The Ood song called out for all Ood off-planet to return home. With the Ood free and most of the company's staff dead or fleeing from the Galactic Police, Ood Operations was shut down and the base was abandoned, allowing the Ood to be free and live naturally again.
