IR-3F Patrol Ship
rdfs:comment
The IR-3F Patrol Ship is the predecessor to the more well-known IPV-1 System Patrol Craft. Similar to the IPV-1, the well-designed IR-3F is tied to a single system due to its lack of hyperdrives. This impressive design, which is fast for its size, primarily relies on brute strength and velocity to disable or eliminate craft before they can escape into hyperspace.

n29:abstract
The IR-3F Patrol Ship is the predecessor to the more well-known IPV-1 System Patrol Craft. Similar to the IPV-1, the well-designed IR-3F is tied to a single system due to its lack of hyperdrives. This impressive design, which is fast for its size, primarily relies on brute strength and velocity to disable or eliminate craft before they can escape into hyperspace. For its size, it features a high power output. One dominant weakness plagues the IR-3F; its small crew, which have the tendancy of tiring out far earlier than mission perameters call for, due to inadequate rotations. IR-3Fs are primarily employed by single system governments, although these ships still see limited service by the Galactic Empire. Due to the nature of these ships, they are conventionally assigned to star systems where blockades are ongoing or to large numbers of support ships.
