Phasing Phasing Phasing
rdfs:comment
Data on the location of game objects, players, and NPCs is not stored in the World of Warcraft client and must be sent from the server. Phasing, in a sense, decides not to send certain data based on criteria. As an example, you may have a quest to get the head of a named NPC. After turning in the quest, the server records that it should not send data about that NPC to you. The next time you go there, even if the NPC is still there, you will not be able to see it. By using combinations of phasing, entire areas can change from grasslands to a city by use of game object phasing and NPC phasing. Phasing is a technique commonly used in MMORPGs. This refers to the technique of having a certain area look different to different characters. __TOC__ Power Description The following Advantages can be purchased or are built in to this power: * Ranged * Double Damage * Armor Piercing * Yes Solvent (this power can be powered-up as part of a solvent package) * Seeker * Multi-Attack * Works in Melee * Area Effect Standard: (Cost: ) Description Superior: (Cost: ) Description Supreme: (Cost: ) Description Ultimate: (Cost: ) Description Special Notes: Phasing is a spell in Diablo I, a weaker version of Teleport and Warp. Le Phasing est un changement des décors de World of Warcraft. Le phasing se trouve surtout dans les zones de Wrath of the Lich King et de Cataclysm. Phasing - the ability to vibrate molecules though solid objects. Some creatures, such as shadow snakes, have a special ability called phasing, and some powers allow you to phase. When you are phasing, you ignore difficult terrain, and you can move through obstacles and other creatures but must end your movement in an unoccupied space. It is also similar to intangibility, except that not every intangible being is able to pass through solid matter. For example, someone with the ability to transform into gas is rendered intangible, but they are not capable of passing through solid matter. Phasing strictly involves the passing through solid matter. Phasing is the ability to move through other objects. The user may extend this ability to other objects or people through physical contact, though this extention is lost when the user loses contact with the object or person. Two people that are both using this power can physically make contact with each other. Phasing is the ability to walk through walls. The property is possessed by xorns, earth elementals, ghosts and shades. This does not allow one to cross pools of water, or walk through certain areas that are designated as non-phasing, e.g. all of Sokoban and a dividing wall in Moloch's Sanctum. SLASH'EM introduces the Spellbook of passwall, casting the corresponding spell will temporarily grant phasing. This ability lets a person pass through solid matter. It is mainly consciously controlled, but it is also possible to access it accidentally, especially at first. The ability is often manifested or discovered while feeling trapped. It has been seen that the ability can be used to pass through floors and walls up to great depth, and can also be used to phase through fire. The ability can also be used to pass other people through solid objects whilst touching them. It is also possible to use the ability defensively, phasing punches and projectiles through oneself, although a little reaction time is neccessary to do this. The ability can also be used offensively, e.g. by phasing into a person's skull, then solidifying one's hand and killing the victim. DL was shown using the ability to phase

The ability can also be used offensively, e.g. by phasing into a person's skull, then solidifying one's hand and killing the victim. DL was shown using the ability to phase into a person partially, which knocked the woman out without leaving any other damage, although the exact mechanisms of this use is unclear. Some creatures, such as shadow snakes, have a special ability called phasing, and some powers allow you to phase. When you are phasing, you ignore difficult terrain, and you can move through obstacles and other creatures but must end your movement in an unoccupied space.
