It is a humorous retelling of the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere and is based on the poem "Paul Revere's Ride" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, who also appears in the film. It was an entry to the Historical Fiction Contest on Brickfilms.com and won the award for Best Story, while also being nominated for Best Film. Later, the film also won the General Animation Competition at the LEGO convention BricksWest 2003. Midnight Ride is an e-book by Clifford Riley released as a Christmas event for free on Google Play, about Amy and Dan's first meeting with the Kabras and the secret of Paul Revere. The story takes place before the start of the Clue hunt in The Maze of Bones. It was announced on the Message Board on December 6, 2013 by Admin Lauren F, which was her first post on the 39 Clues Message Board.
