After Republic forces defeated Karina and her minions, a brain worm managed to infect the clone trooper Scythe and used him to infect a number of other clones and the Jedi padawan Barriss Offee onboard the Republic medical frigate TB-73. Jedi padawan Ahsoka Tano was able to prevent the infection from spreading further by using extremely low temperatures to combat the worms, saving Offee and most of the troopers.

n11:abstract
Brain worms were Goa'uld symbiotes parasitic worms excreted by the Xenomorph queen, capable of possessing and controlling other life forms. Their control was strong enough to possess even recently dead creatures, creating, booga-booga, zombies! They entered through the nose of their intended host, which raises the question of how they would infect Duros. Theoretically, brain worms could have taken over every single Jedi and clone trooper during the Battle of Geonosis, giving the Geonosians complete control of the universe... but I guess they were keeping an ace in the hole or something. Barriss Offee got possessed for a while... so I guess... does that mean the Geonosian queen knows how to use the Force now, or what? Oh, I don't know. This episode opens up a whole big can of worms. Brain worms are also rip offs of The Flood, Chestbusters, Facehuggers, and Your Mom. |} Brain worms were a species of parasitic worm from the planet Geonosis which were capable of entering the body of a host and taking control of it. During the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Geonosian Queen Karina the Great used brain worms to control a host of undead Geonosians.
