A Long Chain Polymer Web, also known as "LCPW" are a technology used primarily in military applications. They were encountered by the Andromeda Ascendant in the Witchhead Nebula, when she traveled back in time to roughly a year after the fall of the Systems Commonwealth. ("Angel Dark, Demon Bright") They are widely used in minefields because of their extremely small size but extremely long length and strength. As the name suggests, they consist of very long lengths of polymers that are made up of artificial molecular chains that allow them to be the width and height of a human hair but be dozens of kilometers long. Hundreds of these are attached to mines because they are easy to manufacture with Nanotechnology, and because they are extremely effective at ensnaring vessels. ("Angel Dark, Demon Bright")
