Final Fantasy Wiki talk:Manual of Style/Archive 1
rdfs:comment
Currently, my posts basically summarizing consensus opinion and existing trends for Collection Order and Name Policy are on the Returners' Conclave talk page. I'm a pretty evenheaded but strong opinionated person so I put it there so it could be discussed and ammended by users. Since I don't think there were any objections, I think these guides should be moved to the Manual of Style or a sub-article of the Manual of Style so that it is more obviously placed. I also don't want to change any wiki project page without consensus since I wrote none of them... and they seem more important. Any objections/comments? --TacticAngel 06:19, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

How come the FFVII games all have that green, but no other miniseries follows any kind of standarized colors? The Ivalice and Crystal Chronicles colors are all over the place. You want fix? It would probably be nicer if the infoboxes actually fit the colors of the game. So I'm thinking: This needs a place on the Game Order, since it IS a FF game and whatnot....though where, I'm not sure... Now, since Type-0 will be starting it's own subseries, but is still linked to and technically still is a part of FNC, where would be a good spot for it? Between XIV and Tactics? Between TA2 and Crystal Defenders? Between Vagrant Story and Crystal Chronicles? Or do we leave it as is? The FFTA ones state "FFTa" and "FFTb" on them, instead of "FFTAa" and "FFTAb". Even though I hate MMOs and whatnot, why isn't this on the list anywhere? Someone needs to update this since I can't~ In the articles that HAVE info for the game , I stuck it right above 4HoL, under Legends III. Figured that'd be a good place to have it. EDIT - Oh....so we can't just edit the page. Of course...well, if we can get someone to add this in, that'd be swell! >_< It seems after the chronological order, the list seems to run down by importance, for the most part. Considering the subtle similarities between Vagrant Story connection to XII and Type-0's connection to XIII, and that a lot more people will be playing Type-0 than most games on that list past IA , I'd still place Type-0 directly after Vagrant Story. XIII-2 needs to be added :} I think that Type-0 should be removed from XIII's subcategory and given its own because of its proposed new series and renaming. Fabula Nova Crystallis is more similar to the Ivalice Alliance series, not the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. The IA includes games that have a common theme but are not linked together by prequel or sequel; we do not take Revenant Wings and group it with Final Fantasy Tactics A2 instead of Final Fantasy XII simply because the first two are officially included in the IA. However, one of the main goals of the wiki is organization. I was entertaining the idea of giving Versus XIII its own category, but I think it is best left where it is. The advantage with creating a series is that we group related games together when listing them on a mainspace article. When someone is searching an article, I believe they would expect to see XIII and Versus XIII next to each other, instead of Versus XIII being somewhere down past Tactics. Type-0, however, promises to spawn a sequel of its own, and its renaming suggests it will be different enough it content that we can separate it from XIII/Versus XIII. Again, look at the Revenant Wings/Tactics A2/XII argument. Also, I added XIII-2 to the list, obviously under XIII, per Azul's poke. So, to summarize what I think should be done: *Final Fantasy XIII-2 under Final Fantasy XIII *Final Fantasy Versus XIII remains under Final Fantasy XIII, but Final Fantasy XIII-2 will come first *Final Fantasy Type-0 receives a category of its own. I would consider it like the Tactics and Crystal Chronicles franchises, and place it between the Crystal Chronicles series and Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. Please comment if you have other ideas ^^ Hmm... I dunno. Stick it at the bottom and we'll think of something later?

If you can wait a day or two, I'll see what I can do about the pages, and I'll add the naming paragraph once. --Hecko X 16:11, 12 January 2007 (UTC) I'm in no hurry. --TacticAngel 20:55, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
