Operational Detachment-Sigma
rdfs:comment
Operational Detachment-Sigma, also known as DETACHMENT: SIGMA or simply Sigma, was an emergency sub-unit formed as part of the Office of Naval Intelligence's elite Special Activities Division on November 1, 2558, in order to combat the threat of the organization of A.I.s and their Promethean servants, known as the Created. Consisting entirely of Spartan personnel, the group recruited its members from all three surviving generations and units, including the Spartan branch, which had long be ostracized by SAD. As with SAD, de-facto command of ODS lies with the Commander-in-Chief of the Office of Naval Intelligence, Admiral Serin Osman, while field command of the unit was given to Lieutenant, Junior Grade Colin-142, who was given the ability to requisition any operator he deemed necessary. This caused some disagreement with Osman when he requested that Bailey-132, in ONI custody for treason, be given a full pardon and return to service in the unit along with his former team. Other teams folded into the unit include Bellerophon Team, a highly decorated team of SPARTAN-IIIs from Alpha Company who have served as part of SAD since it was founded in 2553, Fireteam Blitzkrieg, a SPARTAN-IV team composed of battle hardened UNSC Special Forces operators, Fireteam Valiant, while not as decorated or well known as others, was selected because both SPARTAN-142 and SPARTAN-132 had associated with several members of the team before the advent of the SPARTAN-IV program and had faith in their abilities.
