Mark David Chapman (10th September 1955 - May 1977) was born in Fort Worth, Texas. After a troubled youth and a struggle with depression, he became a committed Christian and worked for the YMCA, but committed suicide at the age of 21 in Hawaii. He died of carbon monoxide poisoning as a result of using a Spangler hose to route a car's exhaust fumes into the car he was sitting in. He was a fan of John Lennon.
