Yellow Pikmin
rdfs:comment
Yellow Pikmin are the second type of Pikmin discovered in Pikmin, the fourth in Pikmin 2, and the third in Pikmin 3, although they also appear at the very beginning during Charlie's tutorial. These Pikmin have what appear to be very large ears; the means by which they are primarily identifiable. It is not known, however, whether or not this actually aids to their hearing. They also appear to prefer elevated habitats, such as trees. In all three games, the yellow Pikmin are the lightest Pikmin type and can be thrown higher than other Pikmin. This is an ability which is needed to retrieve certain elevated objects. Captin Olimar is the Main Pikmin found in Pikmin and the Fourth in Pikmin 2. It has the ability to be thrown higher and farther than any other pikmin due to its light weight and glider-like ears. In Olimar's first foray to the Pikmin Planet this Pikmin could lift Bomb-Rocks and throw them at enemies and walls to cause great damage. However, the Bomb Rocks have seemed to grow in size between the first and second games, as Yellow Pikmin can no longer lift them. The Yellow Pikmin also appeared to evolve an immunity to electrical shocks and again became a great help to Olimar in repaying his company's massive debt. Yellow Pikmin are a species of Pikmin in the Pikmin series. They are the only Pikmin type in the game that can withstand electricity and can pick up Bomb Rocks. Also, when thrown, they will go much higher and farther than other types of Pikmin. Each Pikmin color has its own unique characteristics, the Yellow's being ears, which no other Pikmin type has. They first appeared in the Nintendo GameCube launch title Pikmin, where they were the second type of Pikmin Captain Olimar would find. The species later appeared in multiple other games, including three cameos and the sequel to Pikmin, titled Pikmin 2.

The abilities of yellow Pikmin vary more in the series than any other member of the species. Yellow Pikmin are the only Pikmin able to wield bomb rocks in Pikmin. In Pikmin 3, Yellow Pikmin can dig much faster than any other Pikmin. In Super Smash Bros Brawl, yellow Pikmin can deal electrical damage to enemies.
