Paddy Seale (October 18, 1934 - January (?), 2003) was the lighting cameraman for the Captain Scarlet And The Mysterons episode Winged Assassin. Patrick Luke "Paddy" Seale (18 October 1934 – January 2003) is a lighting cameraman who worked on many Gerry Anderson productions, including Stingray, Thunderbirds, Thunderbirds Are Go, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, Joe 90, The Secret Service, and UFO. Seale was born on 18 October 1934. He entered the film industry in 1950 and spent three years in Pinewood's special effects department, where he shot stop-motion animation and miniatures. Seale used that experience to obtain a job at an advertising agency in London. While shooting commercials for such diverse products as cigarettes, washing machines, and Jaffa oranges, Seale worked alongside a colleague who mentioned that his son, David Elliott, was directing puppet television series at a studio in Slough. He joined A.P. Films around April 1962, where he worked on Fireball XL5 as the camera operator in Derek Meddings' fledging special effects unit. When the series got behind schedule, Seale was asked to join the main unit as a camera operator at weekends. Despite this promotion, and the overtime that came with it, he wanted to leave APF. Seale lived in Chalfont and lacked a car, so he got to work on a little scooter. Although Slough wasn't far, the mornings could get cold. So after a while, he told Anderson that he was considering leaving. Anderson asked Seale to stay on, and said that a lot of things were about to happen. This was a cryptic reference to APF's imminent move to a larger studio on the Slough Trading Estate and the decision to make its next production, Stingray, the first television series to be shot entirely in color. Ultimately, Seale decided to stay, becoming the special effects camera operator on the new series. He was soon graduated to lighting some of the special effects filming and then joined John Read, APF's supervising cinematographer, on the main unit. Seale left Century 21 in May 1967 after Anderson refused to allow him to work on Thunderbird 6 because he was invaluable to the running of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons.
