The 1963-08 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds on March 2, 1963. Ned Jarrett appeared to be free and clear in route to victory, but a late problem suddenly dropped him to 2nd. Instead it was Richard Petty leading the last two laps in route to a one-lap triumph over Jarrett. Eventual season champ Joe Weatherly finished 5th. Stats
