Eiko Ryan was an elderly woman living alone in the Los Angeles suburb of San Atanasio when she was raped and murdered. Colin Ferguson examined the crime scene and found Mrs. Ryan's body in the bedroom with her nightgown hiked up above her waist. The faint but unmistakable odor indicated she had been dead for several days. While needing confirmation from the coroner, it looked like the work of the South Bay Strangler.
