The Commissioner of the State Elections Commission is chosen by the head of state and appointed for a term of 10 years, the appointment is confirmed by the national legislature and confirmed by a vote of the Supreme Court of Justice, the highest court of Dorvik. The Commissioner and the State Elections Commission has widespread powers to ensure that Dorvik remains a democracy through various means, it does not prevent government types from changing but it does prevent government bodies from overriding aspects of the Dorvish electoral system that would effectively make it a complete dictatorship or one-party state. Underneath current Dorvish law, the State Elections Commission is responsible for management of all public funds and dispersing funds during elections.
