The Battle of the Plains, also known as the Battle of the Crossroads, was the culminating fight of the Malazan civil war. It took place in the late summer of the 1166th year of Burn's Sleep and was actually three separate battles occurring over three consecutive days. The Battle of the Plains occurred at some point of the Melida/Daan Civil War. Micae's father died in that battle. The Daan had waged it to take revenge on the Melida for the Battle of the North, which occurred over a century before. The Battle of the Plains was a battle between Gondor, its Northmen allies, and the Wainrider invaders.
