Triggering units include squads, engineers, and even the units called in for airstrikes. When active, they begin producing large, red eggs which they shoot out into the region. The eggs can be destroyed by explosives. Triffid eggs can hatch into a few different things. They commonly hatch into a group of white eggs (the same kind as those laid by Spore Generators), which hatch into basic virii. They are also known to hatch into Centipedes and Spiders, making Triffids a significant threat if left unchecked. A triffid is a biological weapon used by the Russians in 1951.
