A dagger is a small, one-handed melee weapon. It is the cheapest of metal weapons, but usually does the least damage (except if it is poisoned). All daggers can be made with the smithing skill. Daggers from bronze to adamantite can also be purchased from Varrock Swords, whereas the rune dagger can only be obtained through smithing or monster drops. Players do not usually use daggers due to weapons such as 2-handed swords dealing higher damage per second.
