Angela Ruskin Jane is the mother of Charlotte Anne Jane and was Patrick Jane's wife. Both Angela and her daughter were murdered by Red John after Jane taunted him on a television show. Angela grew up with her brother Danny in the same carnival world as Patrick Jane. She refuses to live in the carnival life. She marries Patrick Jane and goes to live with him and her daughter, Charlotte, in the Malibu residence. Before the Red John's incident, she begs Jane to stop playing the fake psychic but Jane doesn't care about it because he earns a lot of money in his job. During the night when Jane is on the television, he taunted Red John and the serial killer comes to Jane's residence Malibu to take his revenge. Red John kills Angela and paints her toenails with her blood. He made the same modus operandi for Charlotte. When Jane returns home, he discovers a letter explaining the murder of Angela and Charlotte wrote by Red John: "Dear mister Jane, I do not like to be slandered in the media, especially by a dirty money-grubbing fraud. If you were a real psychic, instead of a dishonest little worm, you wouldn't need to open the door to see what I've done to your lovely wife and child." The murder of Angela and Charlotte is the main cause why Jane is sent to a hospital where he was taken care of by Dr. Miller. After he recovered from the mental breakdown, he swears to avenge the death of his wife and child by killing Red John. He joined the CBI, so he can reach this personal objective. She is buried in the Alexandria Cemetery with her daughter. In Cackle-bladder Blood, her little brother Daniel Ruskin calls her "Annie".
