n22:abstract
Harondale is a kingdom in Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Price of Loyalty. It appears in the Descendants campaign, and acts as the antagonist in the Border Towns, Ivory Gates, and the Epic Battle scenarios. Some years after Jarkonas I founded the kingdom of Jarkonas, which grew and prospered under his descendants, the kingdom of Harondale grew to power to the east. Eager for more land, they started a bitter rivalry over their borders, and the agents of Harondale captured Jarkonas' border towns. Unfortunately for the wizards, the armies of Jarkonas took the towns back, and punished Harondale for their attacks. Several generations later, Harondale sent a spy to the Ivory Gates, and the castle fell due to his treacherous actions. For months, the rulers of Harondale controlled the castle, but again, they were eventually driven back. The kingdom of Harondale finally fell after an attack by Jarkonas VI, king of Jarkonas, and their rulers fled to distant lands or were slain. The kingdom came under Jarkonas' control, and the nation never rose again.
