According to local lore, it was formerly inhabited by balverines, but they were driven out by mercenaries. However, Blackridge's inhabitants continue to remain terrified of the formidable beasts. During the events of Fable: The Balverine Order, Hannah Mullins, daughter of Robert Mullins, is rumoured to have gone missing in Underwood in addition to her suitor, Samuel. However, when Thomas Kirkman and James Skelton investigate further, it is revealed that the group ran away to escape the brutal Mrs. Mullins, who did not approve of the relationship.
