"Wakey wakey, eggs and bacon!" Timmy, her four-year-old brother said gently to his sister. "Mommy made breakfast." Emma, his three-year-old sister slowly rose her head up. Her curly blonde hair was in a tangled mess, and her pamajas were pink and grey (due to painting a picture). Her face looked gloomy and tired, but she rubbed her eyes to wake up. "Tell Mommy I'll be down in a minute, I just have to brush my teeth." Emma replied deeply, yet firmly. Oh, I wish we move back to the barn........ she thought to herself, The ponies all loved me. "Loretta - " her father warned.

Timmy nodded solemnly and raced out of his sister's bedroom. His dark hair always flew when he runs. Emma got down, slipped her feet into her slippers, and went to her bedroom window. The fall leaves fell slowly down to the ground of the Newton's big house. They used to live in a barn in the country, but their father decided to live in "something more comfortable", so they moved into the big house. Oh, I wish we move back to the barn........ she thought to herself, The ponies all loved me. But a sudden young lady's voice spoke into the door: "Emmie, it's time for breakfast!" "Coming, Lottie!" Emma called. Lottie is Emma's babysitter who used to live in a cabin with her husband, but when Emma was born (way before her brother did), Lottie decided to live with the Newtons. Emma had to hurry, so she brushed her teeth, and went to the dining room. "Finally......" her mother groaned. "You're just in time for breakfast." She grabbed the waffles and placed it on the table. "Did you brush your teeth Timmy?" "Yes Mommy, look!" he announced and showed her his white teeth. They sparkled just like diamonds. "That's great, but how about some toast first?" his father replied, sipping some of his coffee. He glanced at Lottie, who was fuming about something. "Is something wrong Loretta?" the mother asked. (Loretta is her real name, but Emma and Timmy always called her Lottie) "Timmy's always early, and Emmie's always late!" she complained. (Emmie is Lottie's nickname for her). She pulled her strand of blonde hair and poured herself a cup of milk. "It's not my fault!" Emma protested. "Timmy woke me up this morning and I - " "There's no need for excuses!" Lottie fumed. "Timmy, first you need to feed Scarlett in the backyard." (Scarlett is the Newtons' pet blue pony that Emma likes) "Then you are to sweep the front lobby." Timmy turned the pale shade of a tomato and picked up his spoon. "She's so mean," he muttered. "Loretta - " her father warned. "Emmie, you will dust the first bedroom door, and the attic, then you are to pick up your pony books and throw them away!" Lottie continued. Emma gasped. Her mother shook her head. "Now Loretta, come on - " she moaned. She nodded vagerly and stood striaght up. "This is the final straw these children must get tidy before your mother haves her baby in the next month or two, and you will start after you eat."
