Treaties of Amity (often referred to as ToA's) are a type of interalliance treaty wherein the signatory alliances agree to close bonds of friendship and to provide economic aid or military defense in certain circumstances. ToA's differ from MDP's in that aid and war remain optional, rather than mandatory. The NADC announced the first Treaty of Amity on September 2006. However, after the widespread use of the ToA as a replacement to the NAP, the NADC invented a new variation of the Treaty of Amity they dubbed "Amity and Cooperation Treaty" (ACT). It incorporates elements from both a Treaty of Amity and a PIAT. TOA's are one step above PIAT's and one step below ODP's on the .
