Ledge-Stall
rdfs:comment
Ledge-Stalling, also known as Planking, refers to abusing of the invincibility frames gained from grabbing onto the edge of a stage repeatedly. It is used for the purposes of edgehogging or mindgames while recovering. Many characters with very low vertical jumps, such as Ganondorf, or multiple jump characters such as Kirby have an increased advantage while planking, as they can continue to plank while warding off edge guarders.

There are several ways to ledgestall, such as simply ledgehopping repeatedly with certain characters, or using a character's Up or Side Special (such as with Illusion and Firefox). Many players use this technique in Sudden Death in Brawl when the Bob-ombs begin falling on the stage and it becomes dangerous to try and attack your opponent. It is also used to avoid some Final Smashes. While not being an illegal tactic in most tournaments, it is sometimes seen by part of the competitive community as "cheap" and "dishonorable", while others claim that is part of the game, so it should be used. File:Kirby jumping.jpg In Super Smash Bros. Brawl planking is the art of abusing the invincibility granted while grabbing onto a ledge. Planking has the same effect as air-dodging or sidestepping. Many characters with very low vertical jumps such as Ganondorf, or multiple jump characters such as Kirby have an increased advantage while planking. as they can continue to plank while warding off edge guarders. In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, the amount of invincibility frames after releasing a ledge has been reduced. Additionally, players can no longer grab and release repeatedly, having now to wait some few moments before re-grabbing the ledge, does decreasing the ability of players to ledge-stall.
