n32:abstract
T'Auethn was a Romulan military officer, with the rank of centurion, who served as the science officer on the Romulan starship ChR Gal Gath'thong. He served with his commander, Keras, for many years, and was one of Keras' closest friends and advisors. T'Auethn believed in the absolute right of the Romulan people to expand by whatever means they wished, and that the Romulan Praetor's wishes should be followed without question. T'Auethn argued that if the Romulan fleet really was stronger than the United Federation of Planets, "is this not the signal for war?" However, Keras was greatly troubled by the Romulan people's march to war, and this was only made worse when his old friend T'Auethn was killed in a conflict with the USS Enterprise. Keras, to his great regret, placed T'Auethn's body with the rest of the debris jettisoned by the Gal Gath'thong during the battle. (TOS episode: "Balance of Terror"; TOS comic: "Alien Spotlight: Romulans")
