A Charge Thumper is mining equipment in Alien: Out of the Shadows that was used as a weapon by the crew of the DSMO Marion. Originally meant for firing timed explosive mining charges deep into the sand ("thumping" charges, hence the name), it was used against Xenomorphs both in this capacity as an improvised grenade launcher and as projectile weapon firing non-explosive bolts to limit collateral damage in confined spaces.
