The planet Betrassus is known throughout local space as a highly politically unstable planet, previously given over to multiple waves of aristocratic infighting, until eventually the royal family of Betrassus came out supreme. By the time of the current timeline, the title of King is held by the father of Lantern Iolande, who is at the time his only daughter, and not yet a Green Lantern. The King however, is very ill, and has two sons to become heirs; Prince Stentar, and Prince Ragnar. Betrassus was a planet located in Sector 1417. It was ruled by a monarchy. It was home to at least two members of the Green Lantern Corps. The first, the king's son Ragnar, was inducted only briefly as a trap to lure him to Oa to be arrested after being responsible for several murders, including that of his own brother and the Green Lantern Myrrt. The second, Ragnar's sister Iolande, was chosen by the sector's other Lantern, Soranik Natu, to succeed Myrrt.
