The Aerolineas Argentinas 404 incident was an international event during the height of the Brazilian War in which two Brazilian Air Force S-17 fighter jets shot down a commercial Argentinean airliner - Aerolineas Argentinas 404 from Cape Town to Buenos Aires - allegedly travelling through Brazilian airspace on February 17, 1980.
