주한미군지위협정

대한민국과아메리카합중국간의상호방위조약제4조에의한시설과구역및대한민국에서의합중국군대의지위에관한협정(Agreement under Article 4 of the Mutual Defence Treaty between the Republic of Korea and the United States of America, Regarding Facilities and Areas and the Status of United States Armed Forces in the Republic of Korea)으로 약칭 한·미 SOFA(Status of Forces Agreement)라고 부른다. 그동안 한미행정협정이라는 명칭으로 많이 불려졌지만 '행정협정'은 국회의 정식 비준을 거치지 않은 약식 조약을 지칭한다는 점에서 적절치 않다는 지적에 따라 최근엔 잘 사용하지 않는다. 대신 한·미 SOFA 또는 주한미군지위협정이라고 쓰고 있다.
