CanAm Wrestling Alliance was an Canadian/American wrestling federation that was owned and run by Ty Dhomie, Mark McKelvey and Mike Lamb. The federation began in January 2002 but would close 8 months later. The federation came about after Xtreme Championship Wrestling's farm league ACW was rebranded to XTC, which meant that it had no show. Ty Dhomie was the federation's president at the time and quit over the rebranding, he took almost the entire ACW roster with him to his newly formed CWA. He also managed to tempt the majority of the XCW roster to quit XCW and join CWA. As a result XCW was forced to close. The Federation first match was an exciting tag team match between Havoc and Tiffany Cross and the team Austin Mack and Drake Ryden, in which Havoc and Tiffany Cross. There was also a tournament for the Extreme Championship which saw Sean Dahmer become the first ever CWA Champion. The first person to win the CWA World Championship was Tiffany Cross. It's time would be marred by backstage bickering. Contract Killer was the first wrestler to be fired for backstage problems. Robbie The Boss would go from being Vice President to being demoted to a wrestler to being fired after accusations of racism. Due to more backstage problems and Mark McKelvey leaving, the federation closed. XCW would reopen shortly after and as a result some of the CWA and old XCW roster would return there.
