Fireteam
rdfs:comment
A fireteam is a small military unit of infantry. It is the second smallest unit in the militaries that use it (smallest are support teams such as machine gun teams, mortar teams, sniper teams, or military working dog teams) and is the primary unit upon which infantry organization is based in the British Army, Royal Air Force Regiment, Royal Marines, United States Army, United States Marine Corps, United States Air Force Security Forces, Canadian Forces, and Australian Army. Fireteams generally consist of four or fewer soldiers and are usually grouped by two or three teams into a squad or section. Fireteams may be composed of multiple different classes. Bungie highlights the importance of Fireteams in Destiny as being "your finest weapons" in combat. Working together to bring down powerful enemies is recommended, but is not necessarily mandatory when in a Fireteam, as players who wish to operate independent of their teammates can still be an effective member of a team; for example, snipers can watch over their teammates from afar. The concept of the fireteam is based on the need for tactical flexibility in infantry operations. They generally consist of approximately four troops, although they can include up to seven soldiers, and are grouped into squads.
