Great Picklemen Revolt of 1854
rdfs:comment
Also called "The Mechanicals' Uprising." In 1854, the Picklemen plotted to overtake the government by taking control of most of the mechanicals in England. Their plan was to sow chaos using the pilot mechanical aboard Mademoiselle Geraldine's Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality, which was able to transmit instructions to specially installed crystalline valve frequensors within many of the country's mechanicals. They would then deploy an army of gargoyle-like mechanimals from the airship to take the government by force.

This plot was foiled by Sophronia Temminick, along with several other students and teachers of Mademoiselle Geraldine's. After the night of these events, no household in England ever again employed mechanized staff. Most people willingly destroyed their mechanicals, and the government hunted down the rest. This event was also a catalyst that led to the enactment of the Clandestine Scientific Information Act in 1855.
