Iron and Amber follow trends set up by previous generations, although there are some changes from Generation V and VI. Two player characters, one male and one female, travel a new region, Honura, on their Pokémon journeys, encountering various people and places. The region is inhabited by a large amount of new Pokémon, though some have been previously seen in the series.
