The Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies, (Hebrew: מכון שכטר למדעי היהדות‎, Machon Schechter) located in Jerusalem, Israel, is an academic institution affiliated with Conservative Judaism. It serves as one of the movement's main rabbinical seminaries alongside The Jewish Theological Seminary of America in New York City, the University of Judaism (now the American Jewish University) in Los Angeles, and the Seminario Rabínico Latinoamericano in Buenos Aires. Founded in 1984, the Schechter Institute is located in Neve Granot, a neighborhood behind the Israel Museum. Starting with four rabbinical students, it now has an enrollment of over 450. The Institute operates four programs: a Master's program in Jewish Studies, a rabbinical seminary, the Tali Education Fund, which develops Jewish studies curricula for secular schools in Israel, and Midreshet Yerushalayim. The current dean, Einat Ramon, will not be renewing her tenure after reports of a rift with the Executive Committee, although she will continue teaching at the institute. The new campus is currently under construction, designed by Israel Prize laureate Ada Carmi. The campus will include a library, a synagogue, a Beit Midrash and classrooms.
