Jörmungand is a human organization which came into being shortly after the dissolution of the Secessionist Union on Harvest in 2602. Founded by former insurgents who switched to a more passive means of escaping Earth control, Jörmungand focused on snubbing the UNSC through evasion instead of armed resistance and illegally transported hundreds of colonists to other Outer Colonies where they could live with fewer government restrictions. When the Covenant attacked Harvest, Jörmungand's transportation services were utilized by thousands of refugees, many of whom pledged loyalty to the group and joined their ranks.
