Cronus, or Kronos, was a Goa'uld, and one of the most influential of the System Lords up his death in 2001. In Greek mythology, Cronus was one of twelve Titans, immortal beings of great strength and power, who ruled before being overthrown by the Olympians. The twelve children of the Titans, led by Cronus's son Zeus, engaged in a ten-year war that elevated them at its conclusion to the principal deities of the Greek pantheon. When Donatello goes to find an explanation for the bizarre occurrences in Halls of Lost Legends, his brothers go looking for him and find a door marked "Cronus". The Turtles fight him and wound the Titan, but he continues his assault, and it is not until Donatello appears and blinds him by stabbing him in the eye with his bo, that the Turtles are able to escape, locking the door behind them. It's main attack is to fire a laser from its eye which is also its weak point. The first time the player faces Cronus is at the end of Mazone Star although he is seen earlier in the game. During the first fight, the player must defeat Cronus while Natia flys around on a small platform taunting you. Once Cronus is defeated, Natia leaps down from her platform to face you herself. Cronus very weakness was his own flesh and blood Zeus. Cronus spent much of his career serving under the Prophet of Justice as a Jiralhanae Chieftain. However, his greatest moment occurred during the Great Schism after he was offered a unique opportunity by the current Prophet of Truth. Cronus, son of Gaea and Uranus, is one of the original Titans of Myth. He killed his father at the request of his mother after Uranus cast his other children out to Tartarus for being too ugly. Fearing a similar fate, Cronus devoured his progeny birthed by his sister-wife Rhea. In secret, Rhea swept one child away, Zeus, who grew too manhood in seclusion. In accordance with a prophecy that would see the death of Cronus at the hands of his own offspring, Zeus sent his wife Metis to seduce his father. She forced Cronus to vomit up two of his sons, Hades and Poseidon, and together they defeated Cronus. In the Song of Ullikummi, Teshub uses the "sickle with which heaven and earth had once been separated" to defeat the monster Ullikummi, establishing that the "castration" of the heavens by means of a sickle as part of a creation myth, in origin a cut creating an opening or gap between heaven (imagined as a dome of stone) and earth enabling the beginning of time (Chronos) and human history. Cronus had been conflated with the name of Chronos, the personification of time in Classical Antiquity. In the Renaissance, the combination of Cronus and Chronos give rise to "Father Time" wielding the harvesting scythe.
