He is a premier fixture in New Zealand’s jazz, rock, covers, pop, blues and funk music scenes and can be heard on a number of albums across these genres. He has composed tunes for both the first and second CD’s released by his group – ‘The Samsom Nacey Haines trio’. ABOUT DIXON NACEY Dixon Nacey’s 18 year music career has seen him perform jazz with some of the world’s top musicians. He is a premier fixture in New Zealand’s jazz, rock, covers, pop, blues and funk music scenes and can be heard on a number of albums across these genres. He has composed tunes for both the first and second CD’s released by his group – ‘The Samsom Nacey Haines trio’. Dixon leads his own jazz combos, manages and performs with ‘The Kingpins’ corporate band, works a regular covers circuit with ‘Black Salt’ and has recently been through USA, Canada, New Caledonia, Singapore, The Cook Islands and Thailand, performing in a large variety of groups. Dixons latest project can be found at He currently teaches guitar and coaches ensembles at Auckland University’s jazz music department and at the Excel School of Performing Arts. Dixon also regularly hosts guitar workshops throughout the country. Dixon has a unique talent to teach, inspire and communicate the art of Jazz Guitar and has taught and mentored 100′s of Guitarist from beginner to advanced level.
