Gwyllgi
rdfs:comment
The Gwyllgi (aka the Dog of Darkness) is a ghostly apparition resembling huge black mastiff with glowing red eyes. It haunts lonely roads and chases travelers, who later find no trace of the fearsome creature. The Gwyllgi (ケルベロス Keruberosu, lit. Cerberus in the Japanese version) is an enemy-only Monster class that is exclusive to Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. The promoted form of the Mauthe Doog class, these savage, three-headed hellhounds are significantly more dangerous than their unpromoted counterparts, ripping the flesh of their foes with deadly attacks administered by their fangs. Gwyllgi are distinguishable by their three-headed forms, alongside a mane that is murky green in colour. The Gwyllgi are an intelligent animalistic race of spiritual dogs featured strongly in the mythology of the British isles, gaining such names as the Black Shuck and the Hounds of Hell. It is generally accepted that they are nocturnal apparitions who are strongly associated with the Devil and the Underworld, which often leads to them being labeled as portents of death. The Gwyllgi's natural home is unknown but locations that sport large numbers include Hell, the World of the Living and Soul Society; Hell in particular is their preferred setting.
