Salvador Dalí Salvador Dalí Salvador Dalí Salvador Dalí Salvador Dalí Salvador Dalí
rdfs:comment
Dalí was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters. His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in 1931. Dalí's expansive artistic repertoire includes film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media. (TNG: "The Most Toys"; VOY: "Relativity"). AKA The guy who made the melting clocks painting. Born on May 11, 1904 in Figueres, Spain, Dali was one of the most important artists of the 20th century, especially in the genre of surrealism, which involves painting dreamlike images which are left to the viewer to interpret as they wish. He didn't just paint surrealism, though. He lived it. He became almost as well known for his bizarre behavior as his paintings, and may be largely responsible for the belief that artistic genius comes with insanity (see the page quote for his thoughts on the matter.) Dalí also played alongside Mischevious P. Walkenstick in Florida: The Musical. His part was of the affable gentleman with a rather over-keen interest in oranges. Is there anything in that movie that's not about Oranges? Dalí also did art and stuff, but he put it down, claiming "Raaaawrk! it's a living." Dalí's expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media. Salvador Dalí (1904-1989) was a 20th century surrealist painter most famous for his "melting clocks" painting, The Persistence of Memory. Salvador Dalí was a surrealist human painter. An android copy of him was in the Paloma Centre. The Eleventh Doctor used his sonic screwdriver to control it into attacking the invading Arucha, which it did by distracting them while René Magritte attacked them with a concrete pipe. (WC: The War of Art) Dalí once painted a picture of elephants with long, thin legs. Polly Wright was reminded of this painting when she first saw the Vist. (AUDIO: The Forbidden Time) thumb|Die Beständigkeit der Erinnerung Salvador Dalí ist ein exzentrischer Künstler des Surrealismus und zählt zu den bekanntesten Malern auf der Erde des 20. Jahrhunderts. (VOY: ) Salvador Dalí was born “Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domenech, Marquis of Pubol” in Spain in 1904. Dalí was like any normal person. He lived with his disciplinarian father, and his over-compensating mother, where he learned the values he held dear. Dalí upheld good practices such as eating your vegetables, drinking your milk, spitting on your toothbrush and not your dead mother's portrait, saying your prayers, and taking vitamins. He did this, like everything else, without complaining. Unlike Pablo Picasso who broke every rule from day one. Among the most famous of his paintings was The Persistence of Memory, which the collector Kivas Fajo possessed in 2366, despite having little artistic interest in it. The same painting inspired the name of the Dali Paradox in temporal mechanics. (TNG: "The Most Toys" ; VOY: "Relativity") According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 178) , the birth and death years of Salvador Dalí were 1904 and 1989, respectively.

Dalí was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters. His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in 1931. Dalí's expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media. Dalí attributed his "love of everything that is gilded and excessive, my passion for luxury and my love of oriental clothes" to an "Arab lineage", claiming that his ancestors were descended from the Moors. Dalí was highly imaginative, and also enjoyed indulging in unusual and grandiose behavior. His eccentric manner and attention-grabbing public actions sometimes drew more attention than his artwork, to the dismay of those who held his work in high esteem, and to the irritation of his critics. Dalí's expansive artistic repertoire includes film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media. Dalí attributed his "love of everything that is gilded and excessive, my passion for luxury and my love of oriental clothes" to a self-styled "Arab lineage," claiming that his ancestors were descended from the Moors. Dalí was highly imaginative, and also had an affinity for partaking in unusual and grandiose behavior, in order to draw attention to himself. This sometimes irked those who loved his art as much as it annoyed his critics, since his eccentric manner sometimes drew more public attention than his artwork. Dalí also played alongside Mischevious P. Walkenstick in Florida: The Musical. His part was of the affable gentleman with a rather over-keen interest in oranges. Is there anything in that movie that's not about Oranges? Dalí also did art and stuff, but he put it down, claiming "Raaaawrk! it's a living." (TNG: "The Most Toys"; VOY: "Relativity"). (AUDIO: The Forbidden Time) The Eighth Doctor, while struggling to recall his memories on Espero, found it impossible to remember what Salvador Dalí's Autumn Cannibalism looked like, although he couldn't work out why this was bothering him so much. (PROSE: Halflife) Among the most famous of his paintings was The Persistence of Memory, which the collector Kivas Fajo possessed in 2366, despite having little artistic interest in it. Salvador Dalí was born “Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domenech, Marquis of Pubol” in Spain in 1904. Given the length of his name, Dalí was unable to find a career in the mundane. With no skills to help him make money, he decided to earn even less money by his “art”. His unique perspective made his entry into the art world a given while his motivations were as cliché as any other artist: Being a famous painter gets you free drinks and a lot more girls go home with you. He became almost as well known for his bizarre behavior as his paintings, and may be largely responsible for the belief that artistic genius comes with insanity (see the page quote for his thoughts on the matter.) Salvador Dalí (1904-1989) was a 20th century surrealist painter most famous for his "melting clocks" painting, The Persistence of Memory. thumb|Die Beständigkeit der Erinnerung Salvador Dalí ist ein exzentrischer Künstler des Surrealismus und zählt zu den bekanntesten Malern auf der Erde des 20. Jahrhunderts. (VOY: )
