Ashley Cosway
rdfs:comment
Dr. Ashley Cosway was a couples therapist who was a murder victim, in the case that Castle and Beckett investigated in "The Double Down". She was murdered by Eric Marx as part of a deal that Jason Cosway, Ashley's husband, would kill Eric's father-in-law Frank Anderson, as neither man would be a suspect in the murder they committed, and each could arrange an airtight alibi for the one the police might think they did.

n14:abstract
Since Dr. Cosway had a large practice, and had recently consulted a lawyer friend concerning the pre-requisites for a restraining order, apparently against a patient, there were a number of viable suspects, and it took Beckett and Castle a long time to whittle them down, longer than usual, perhaps, because they were not co-operating but rather in direct competition with Ryan and Esposito, due to a bet. Ryan and Esposito were investigating the Anderson case, and it was only when an exhausted Beckett suggested that neither pair was succeeding in their own case, and thus, to provide fresh eyes, they should swap, that Castle had his requisite "light bulb moment".
