Ayumu Kasuga(春日歩Kasuga Ayumu), more commonly known as Osaka(大阪Ōsaka), is a character from the anime and manga series Azumanga Daioh. One of the most influential anime characters of recent years, Osaka is notable for not conforming to the usual stereotypes of an anime heroine: for example in 2003 she was voted 7th in the top 100 poll, "Anime Heroines of 2002" by readers of the Japanese anime magazine Newtype, but was the only character in the top ten who could not be categorised as "hot", "sexy", or "spunky". Instead Osaka is plain, flat-chested, and feeble. Her appeal arises instead from her vivid imagination which comprises a large part of the humor of Azumanga Daioh. Osaka is not only a day-dreamer but in fact tends to fall asleep in class, and her unusual character acts as the foil for Ayumu Kasuga, conosciuta da tutti come Osaka, è un personaggio del manga ed anime Azumanga Daioh, nonché il nome di una prefettura del Giappone intitolata a questa ragazza. Ha ottenuto una grandissimo successo e nel 2003 una rivista generica per otaku l'ha inserita al settimo posto nella classifica delle migliori 100 ragazze negli anime, l'unica a non avere un aspetto puccioso o la nona di seno. Ayumu Kasuga (Japanese:春日歩 Kasuga Ayumu), more commonly known as Osaka (大阪), is a transfer student from the city of Osaka in the Azumanga Daioh series.
