Styles are a function featured in Tales of Innocence, through which characters can be customized and optimized to fit any party role. There are six styles: Advance, Wisdom, Guardian, Technical, Innocent, and Versus. Innocent Style is unlocked per character by raising three other styles for that character to level 15, and then sleeping at an inn after Hermana Larmo joins the party. Versus Style is unlocked for all playable characters by playing on wireless mode, saving, exiting wireless mode, and then resuming the game to sleep at an inn.

Equipping a style provides various stat benefits and reductions that modify a character's base stats. Style skills are obtained by increasing the appropriate style level, which can be achieved by keeping that style equipped for a number of battles. Each style requires 100 points to level up. Each time it levels up, the style requires more battles to reach 100 points. Styles can reach a maximum of 50 levels. Characters can equip only two skills at the start; at levels 10, 30, and 90, another skill slot is made available to that character.
