Professor Carrotstein is in charge of Project Venture's genetics division. He created cloned heroes conditioned to be loyal to the government, such as the Robot Syndicate. A brilliant psychiatrist, proficient chemist, and skilled manipulator, Sapient is the leader of Project Venture. Aside from the experience Sapient has with psychology and strategy, Sapient also managed to have his physical health reach to it's highest level. Sapient is hardly seen in any forms of physical combat, but when confronted he does share knowledge of martial arts, athletics, and hand-to-hand combat. General Red is a United States military general and a central figure in Venture. Red's form is superhumanly strong, on par with Wario, perhaps stronger. He is much faster than normal humans and can use his powerful leg muscles to leap distances of a mile or more. He is also seemingly impervious to injury by conventional means, possessing superhuman durability. Violet is a trained assassin and agent of Project Venture, proficient in interrogation, unarmed combat, marksmanship, and the handling and processing of massive amounts of information. She is skilled at directing several operations and operatives at once. She is the only playable character of episode two. Ludwig Animäl is one of the major members of Project Venture. Ludwig specializes in biological tampering of animal subjects. He had long been engaging in these illegal practices when he started secretly studying a group of animals known as The Epic Animals.

Agility: Violet moves and dodges quicker than the other characters. Fighter: Sapient can defend himself perfectly without a weapon. Psycho: Violet's amount of bullet-time is increased. Smartass: Carrotstein can activate buttons, switches, or other mechanisms faster than the others. Size: Red doesn't have to open doors as other characters do. He simply walks through the wall. This also serves as a disadvantage, however, since Red cannot activate buttons, switches, or other mechanisms. The space button is basically useless. He also cannot use weapons, thus making bullet-time useless for him as well. Agility: Ludwig moves and dodges quicker than the other characters. Animal Instinct: Ludwig is able to recognize people and objects by scent, even if they are well hidden, which can serve as a huge advantage. His hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, allowing him to detect sounds ordinary humans couldn't hear at a greater distance, enough to hear a teardrop in another room that have thick walls with enough focus. Fighter: Violet can defend herself perfectly without a weapon. Knockback: Due to his power, enemies are literally flung off-screen when he punches them. Strength: Red causes massive damage to enemies. Armor: Due to his carrot skin, Carrotstein can withstand only a certain amount of bullets from firearms before dying. Stealth: Sapient is the only character capable of encountering different situations through the use of alternate choices. He can maneuver his way around enemies, thus completely avoiding a whole fight sequence. If chosen, players can beat the entire game without fighting at all though it generally becomes harder in later rounds to become and stay sneaky, as enemies will be better equipped. Psycho: Ludwig's amount of bullet-time is increased. Smartass: Violet can activate buttons, switches, or other mechanisms faster than the others. Smartass: Sapient can activate buttons, switches, or other mechanisms faster than the others. Tech Wiz: Violet can reprogram almost any source of technology. Tech Wiz: Carrotstein can reprogram almost any source of technology.

Pump-action shotgun: Like all shotguns, the pump-action shotgun is useless at far range, but it excels at close range. Disruptor: Sapient's weapon disruptor remotely disables enemy firearms without the enemy being aware that the gun they are carrying has become jammed. The disruptor is small and easily concealed, leaving adversaries to believe that Sapient has powers when, in fact, he doesn't.​ Wrist-mounted flamethrower: Lets out an invisible projectile traveling along the flame stream that causes immediate damage. It is a great weapon for flushing out enemies, as it can set multiple enemies on fire at once. None. Pistol: Violet's pistol.
